Southwest academic and
student affairs policies are included in the following publications: The
Southwest Tennessee Community College Catalog [1], the Schedule of Classes
[2], Faculty Handbook [3], and Student Handbook [4]. In addition, all
policies of Southwest Tennessee Community College are posted on the
Southwest
Intranet Each Southwest publication has a separate review
process coordinated by the office responsible for the publication.
Southwest Catalog
Sections of the catalog [1] are sent to appropriate
administrative/academic offices for separate review. Prior to this review
process, any changes in courses or programs are sent to the Curriculum
Committee for approval. Academic deans and department chairs are
responsible for reviewing academic portions of the catalog. Revisions are
forwarded from the administrative offices and academic deans and
department chairs to appropriate administrative office. Revisions are then
reviewed and approved before a final printing of the catalog. The
Southwest Catalog is available in the offices of Admissions, Student
Activities, Advising and Counseling, and other appropriate administrative
offices across the campus and the Southwest web site at
www.southwest.tn.edu/catalog
.
The catalog contains
policies governing Academic and Student Affairs operations of the college:

admission to graduation

Schedule of Classes
Academic department chairs are responsible for reviewing course
offerings from the previous year and updating them for the current year.
Chairs, or department coordinators, enter the schedule directly into the
Student Information System (SIS) and notify academic deans who ensure that
schedules are complete. Once the department chairs or coordinators have
entered schedules into SIS, the Dean of Mathematics, Health Sciences, and
Natural Sciences verifies that the information on the schedule screens in
SIS matches what department chairs have entered into the system. The
schedule is sent to the department of printing and graphic services as an
electronic file from SIS. The Schedule of Classes [2] contains those
procedures that relate to the registration process.
